Welcome to the Digital Learning Network

The Digital Learning Network (DLNET) is an informal network of people who share a common interest in how digital technologies can help people who work in the culture and heritage sectors to better engage with audiences.

People in our network often work in audience-oriented roles in museums, galleries, archives, libraries, historic buildings or heritage sites, and zoos, parks or gardens; many also work or study in universities and other learning environments. We are based in the UK, but there are people from all over the world who regularly engage with the network.

Who are we?

All of our network activity is led by a voluntary committee which is made up of professionals and practitioners working across the sector. We aim for our committee to reflect the diverse range of roles and experiences of the people in the network.

What do we do?

We are not experts and we don’t have all the answers, but the Digital Learning Network aims to be a safe place for people to ask questions, to seek information, and to offer their experience for the benefit of others.

We host regular online events, ranging from short webinars on specific subjects of interest, to online conferences taking a full day or more (sometimes).

We also enable conversations through our social media platforms, and our committee produce regular articles including case-studies, how-to guides and other content that aim to understand and interpret our sector’s relationship with technology, as we all seek to better engage with our audiences.

Where have I seen you before?

DLNET has been active for many years, and you might have already engaged with us on social media or at one of our events.

Today, you can also find us in these other places:

There is also a DLNET JISCMail discussion group.
